I love this little video. Despite the fact that it makes me a little teary eyed. The images feature my cousin and me enjoying the splish-splashiness of summer, circa 1977. In my humble opinion we were truly adorable. But, what I really like about the video is that in a nostalgic way it reminds me of how “special” I am (as is everyone else in the world). Sometimes, life can beat us up in so many ways that we can forget that we are just as precious, beautiful, and whole in our adult lives as when we were children. Regardless of how unpretty life can be at times, we are still something to behold!
This was one of my first attempts at creating a video on my computer so I just selected these images as a test subject, and before I knew it the project took on a meaning of its own. Not too shabby if I must say so myself. The song is Pretty Wings by Maxwell. Great CD if you don’t have it by now.
Thanks for looking!
O.K. so I am finally coming back down to earth from all of the inaugural buzz. I endured the cold and the crowds to be on the Capitol Mall on Tuesday, to witness the swearing in ceremony of our President Barack Hussein Obama!! I would do it again in a heartbeat, it goes down as one of the most significant moments of my life. And of course I broke down into tears the moment he said “…so help me God.” That was the moment!!!! I’ve posted some pictures in my flickr gallery from the day, here is the link…Inauguration Day Photos.
God bless our president and his family, and may the Lord protect him and guide him as he leads our nation.
O.K. so I just got back from freezing my face off. I went to see Barack & Michelle Obama along with the Bidens on their train stop in downtown Baltimore, MD. He got there at 4:15pm, but we were out there at 9:45am!! It was sooooooo cold, but soooooooo worth it. I was very close to the front (right along the rails) so, I got some really great pics. If you would like to see more check them out in my flickr gallery in the Obama Express set.
This whole time is just amazing, and I am truly in awe of our 44th President Barack Obama! Love him!!! I will definitely be doing a scrapbook about this. But first I have to see what photo-opps Tuesday will bring. As for this moment, I am about to go and take a hot shower and bundle up under the covers, because I am still shivering!!!
Don’t forget to check out my flickr gallery for more pics!!
I upgraded my situation over on Flickr to a pro account. Yay! Well, pretty much I had no choice, evidentally I was approaching my maximum photo limit of 200. So with that, I’ve decided to begin sharing some of my photography. I am having a serious love affair with my camera and find myself taking pictures all the time. My hope is that I will continue to grow and get better as time progresses.
Here is a picture of a pomegranate (or chinese apple according to my Grandma) that I took on Thanksgiving last year. Delicious!!!
My friend Alicia and I are working on a joint art project that will last for 2 weeks. It is inspired by the diptych project over on the Art-Slam blog (link to the right). Each day for 2 weeks we will be creating a piece of art inspired by a particular word, then we combine our seperate pieces to form one cohesive work of art…a diptych. This project is exciting to me because each day when I open up my emailed image from her it is like a mini-Christmas. Eventhough we are using a common inspiration word, it is still amazing to see how similarly and differently we interpret the theme.
This was Day 2 of the project…Me, Myself & I.
Finally the day is here. I feel like this has been the longest election season ever. For me, it is the first time I have felt so connected to a national election. I’ve watched so much CNN I feel like I know Anderson Cooper personally.
Last night I attended Obama’s final pre-election rally in Manassas, VA. All I can say it that he is AMAZING! There were atleast 90,000 people in attendance. I waited in line standing up for 7 hours and it was sooo worth it. When he finally arrived the crowd went APE $h!T…including me. I was jumping up and down and screaming like a maniac.
God Bless him and his family and I sincerely thank him for all he is doing for “The People.” Regardless of who you support make sure you get out there and VOTE today!
I will be doing a scrapbook about all of this, but for now here is a teaser…a photo from the event.

Fall is my favorite season. Eventhough it is hard to pinpoint exactly what that means when the weather is so crazy. One minute it is freezing then the next it is warm verging on hot. Of course we can go by the technical definition of the season and just say it is from Sept 21 to Dec 21 (or something close to that). But for me, fall is when the leaves change and we prepare for the holiday season. It is the time of year when we can wear warm fuzzy sweaters and cool scarves, and when I begin to crave Sweet Potato Pie, Collard Greens & Ham.
This is a photo I took of a tree that screamed fall. Can you believe how rich the color is and this is without the help of photoshop!
